Back adjustmentYour First Chiropractic Appointment

Your first appointment will take about 45 minutes. Dr. Jon will take time to review your paperwork ahead of the exam process.

Once you’re in the office, he’ll start your appointment by discussing your health issues and experiences with you to gain a more thorough understanding of what is going on in your body. An orthopedic exam may be done, and then he’ll start your scans.

Dr. Jon will take x-rays of adults and use the scans for pediatric and prenatal clients only.

Following the x-rays or scans, Dr. Jon can provide an adjustment for relief to tide them over until the second visit, when the scan results come in and a more in-depth and thorough treatment plan can be developed. Scans are done every 12 visits to ensure the patient is making progress.

This will show Dr. Jon the amount of time between your heart beats. Fluctuations in your HRV can indicate current or future health problems. It will show Dr. Jon how balanced your sympathetic and parasympathetic systems are, as well as the autonomic activity in the nervous system. Your sympathetic system controls your “fight or flight” responses, while the parasympathetic controls the “rest and digest” systems. The autonomic system readies your body for emergency responses, impacting heart rate, blood pressure and respiration, among others.

A thermal exam shows the overall health and wellness and how is your body functioning, the health of your muscles and the nerve cells that control them. If there are variances in temperature throughout your body, that indicates your body and its systems may be overloaded.

During this scan, Dr. Jon will start at the bottom of the spine, rolling the scanner up through the spine and behind each ear.

This scan measures your muscle and nerve activity. EMG results can reveal nerve dysfunction, muscle dysfunction or problems with nerve-to-muscle signal transmission.

Dr. Jon will know if your muscles and nerves aren’t firing properly from this scan.
